Neil Swope, owner and president of The HDD Company, Inc. has worked in the HDD industry continuously for 19 years. In 1993 after working for several HDD companies in both the USA and abroad, he was hired by Environmental Crossings Inc., as manager of drilling operations and in 1994 became a member of a group of four individual’s who purchased the rapidly expanding company.
In 1998 Mr. Swope sold his interest in ECI and opened The HDD Company, Inc. Under his sole ownership the company concentrated its efforts on smaller diameter projects using a 30-ton rig to take advantage of the booming fiber optic market. Currently the company owns one 300-ton, one 200-ton and one 30-ton rig.
Horizontal Directional Drilling is all we do, everyday. Along with the larger capacity drilling equipment, a team of people assembled brings a wealth of knowledge and experience in the industry. Estimator / Project Manager, Rick Evans has over 23 years of HDD experience and has successfully completed projects worldwide including lengths over 5000 feet and pipe diameters up to 42”. Two of our driller / superintendents have been in the HDD industry for over 16 years each and have successfully completed crossings worldwide in excess of 5,000 feet and up to 36” in diameter.
Our key people have been in the industry for more than 20 years and we have completed more than 1000 bores in every type of soil conditions imaginable. We have installed pipelines and utilities for ocean outfalls, under rivers, ship channels, creeks, wetlands, buildings and highways.
